Bust of Queen Mary, to right, her hair bound with strings of pearls, tiara on top of head, lovelock, in mantle fastened with jewel on shoulder. Britannia holding a torch is seated in a mournful attitude and leans against a monument decorated with a medallion of Mary. By Jan Luder. Gilt-bronze. 57 mm.

Condition: Extremely fine, a superb example, and most attractive, with almost all the gilt entirely present; very rare thus.

Notes: The date of MDCLXXXXV [=1695] on the reverse side of the medal is given in the old style.
