A finely carved relief portrait of King Charles II carved in coromandel. 47 mm. (1. 75 inches) in diameter.

Condition: Extremely fine and very attractive with a most appealing patination to the wood.

Notes:

The style of portrait of Charles II dates this iterm  to the latter part of the reign and has close parallels with John Roettier's medallic images of the King. Carved reliefs of this type are rare.
