Notes:

Fred Rich (b.1954), did a degree course at the Jewellery Design Department of the Central School of Art and has won various awards for designs in silver. This very decorative and highly original interpretation shows the bird's view of his prey, as well as the fish's view of the osprey.

The medal was issued by the British Art Medal Society, which was formed in 1982 with the purpose of encouraging contemporary medallic art in Britain and the study of medallic history. Each medal is illustrated in The Medal, the journal of the British Art Medal Society, and is produced in a declared edition, the total number cast of this one being 60.
