A glass intaglio of Adam Smith, his draped bust to left. By Warner. 25 x 21 mm. (1 x 0.8 inches) in diameter. 14 mm. (0.45 inches) in depth.

Condition: Extremely fine.

Notes: Adam Smith (1723-90), Scottish economist. The glass intaglio is set within a velvet-lined contemporary fitted case. The case also contains a red sulphur relief with the same profile of Smith, but in positive, an example of which is in the Hunterian Museum, Glasgow.
